I just finished participating in the Toastmasters International Speech Contest for Area 45. It was held at AOL’s headquarters building in Dulles, VA, which I hadn’t been in since early 2008 when I used to work for AOL.
General Dynamics Sends Ten

RubyNation 2012 Schedule Finalized
The organizers met tonight and worked out the schedule for all of the talks at RubyNation 2012, which will be held March 23 – 24. I’m speaking right before the Saturday Closing Keynote by Corey Haines.

I’m submitting a proposal to speak at GFIRST 2012, the 8th annual Cyber Security Conference hosted by the Department of Homeland Security. Wish me luck!

Section 508 and the NOVARUG
My friend and former boss, Jessie Link, will be giving a talk on “Section 508 Compliance” at the NovaRUG meeting on January 25, 2012. I will be speaking at DevIgnition 2011 on December 2nd about integrating web sites with Facebook using technologies like Facebook widgets, JavaScript and Ruby on Rails.
Doing Rails Security Talk for the NOVARUG
I’ll be speaking at the NovaRUG group on “Rails Security” on Thursday, September 22nd. Networking starts at 6:30 PM, with talks beginning at 7:00 PM. Be there! The other talks will be on reek (the static code analysis tool) and JRuby.
At CapitolJS This Past Weekend
