Exception Request Tool

Notes: I'm not especially enamored with the look-and-feel of this site, but the information design aspects of the site were much more interesting. The application tracks requests to perform critical software installs where executive approval is required. As with the AOL Install Calendar, the goal was to show a great deal of information in a small amount of space. Pinpoint graphics, such as the green checkmarks, were used to quickly convey status information about a request. JavaScript roll-overs were used to make detailed information accessible on the summary page shown above, e.g. - rolling over the first triangle symbol showed the items requested for install, and the second one showed the list of approvers (as well as the decision and decision date for each approver). Users could still drill down for more information. The application also featured sophisticated editing facilities using AJAX.
